The E.A. Buketov Karaganda University, Faculty of Chemistry, will hold the National Subject Olympiad for students of the "B053 - Chemistry" education program group in offline format from April 24 to 26, 2025. General information about the National Subject Olympiad and its REGULATIONS: 1. General Regulations This Regulation defines the procedure for organizing and conducting the National Subject Olympiad for students of the "B053 - Chemistry" program in offline format, its organizational, methodological, and informational support, the procedure for participating in the olympiad, and determining the winners and prize winners. 2. Purpose of the Olympiad The main purposes of the Olympiad are: - To identify and support talented youth and develop students' creative abilities; - To reveal the personal potential of chemistry students and create conditions for their self-actualization; - To assist the professional growth of talented students and encourage them to continue their studies in master's and PhD programs; - To increase the effectiveness of talented students' performances in international olympiads and competitions. 3. Participation in the Olympiad 3.1. Students of all courses in full-time education of higher educational institutions enrolled in the "B053 - Chemistry" program can participate. 3.2. Each university can send no more than two teams, each consisting of three students who have achieved prize-winning places in the first stage within their university. The university where the Olympiad is held can also send no more than two teams. The composition of the teams cannot be changed during the Olympiad. Each team member must have a personal identification document and a certificate from the university. 3.3. Participation in the Olympiad is voluntary and free of charge. 4. Procedure for Holding the Olympiad 4.1. The Olympiad will take place from April 24 to April 26, 2025. 4.2. The Olympiad will be held at the E.A. Buketov Karaganda University, Faculty of Chemistry, Karaganda, Kazakhstan. 4.3. The Olympiad will be conducted in Russian and Kazakh. 4.4. The Olympiad consists of two rounds: theoretical and experimental. 1) First round - theoretical: participants will complete tasks in the following subjects: - Inorganic Chemistry - Organic Chemistry (including elements of physical-chemical research methods) - Physical Chemistry - Analytical Chemistry 2) Second round - laboratory: it will be held in the chemistry faculty’s laboratories. 4.5. The organization committee will be responsible for the results and awarding the winners. 4.6. Winners (first, second, and third place in individual and team competitions) will be awarded diplomas. Diplomas will be presented after the Olympiad. 4.7. Collective applications for participation from higher education institutions will be accepted until April 22, 2025, via email: kutzhanova_k@mail.ru. Participants who did not achieve the passing score in the first stage or did not participate in the first stage cannot participate in the second round. 4.8. In the team competition, the university team with the highest average score from both rounds will be declared the winner of the Olympiad. 5. Organizer (E.A. Buketov Karaganda University, Faculty of Chemistry) 5.1. Develops and approves the regulations for holding the Olympiad. 5.2. Ensures the direct conduct of the Olympiad. 5.3. Forms the organizing committee. 5.4. Develops and approves the materials for the Olympiad tasks. 5.5. Approves the list of winners and prize-winners. 5.6. Approves the list of participants for awarding diplomas and special prizes. 5.7. Together with the jury, resolves any disputes arising during the Olympiad. Final decisions will be made based on the results of these considerations. 6. General Rules for Holding the Olympiad 6.1. Participants must submit their application for participation by email and provide the university's protocol of the first stage, a certificate from the university, and an ID card or passport upon arrival. 6.2. The use of mobile phones, reference materials, notes, and communication with other participants is prohibited during the Olympiad.
