On April 3, the Department of Pedagogy and methodology of primary education held a one-day seminar "Methods and techniques for developing critical thinking in the educational process at the university," according to the network schedule of the Additional education faculty. Young teachers of the pedagogical faculty took part in the seminar. Seminar moderator – Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Assistant Professor Akhmetkarimova K.S.
The aim of the seminar was to discuss methods and techniques for developing students' critical thinking in the educational process of higher education. The key idea of the seminar was to use Bloom's Taxonomy learning objectives to develop students' critical thinking. The seminar was held in an interactive and dialogical form with the use of teaching experience.
At the seminar, the participants explored in depth what is meant by the concept of critical thinking and explored how it is involved at every stage of the teaching and learning process. In order to actualize the concepts and notions of critical thinking and to motivate the perception of the information offered, the moderator offered to watch a video, encouraging the discussion of its content, proposing hypotheses and assumptions. As part of the methods of critical thinking technology, such tasks as the method of brainstorming, "INSERT", "Six Hats", "Balance Wheel", "Jigsaw", "Basket of ideas", cinquain and others were proposed.
The comfortable atmosphere created at the seminar facilitated the involvement of participants in direct communication and interaction; stimulated listeners to further cognitive activity, which, in turn, increased the professional interest of young teachers in developing their own lesson plans.
