FOR THE FIRST TIME AT KARAGANDA BUKETOV UNIVERSITY: DISSERTATION DEFENSE IN THE FORMAT OF A SERIES OF ARTICLES IN PEDAGOGY

On January 30, 2026, a significant meeting of the Dissertation Council was held at our university in the fields of study 8D013 – Training Teachers without Subject Specialization and 8D011 – Pedagogy and Psychology.For the first time, a doctoral dissertation defense was conducted in a modern format — based on a series of articles published in high-ranking journals (Web of Science Q1–Q2). The meeting was chaired by the Vice-Rector for Strategic Development, Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Yerkbol Zhanbyrbaevich Sarmurzin.The doctoral candidate, Anara Serikovna Urkunova, successfully defended her dissertation: “Global Competence in Primary Education: Knowledge and Skills of Future Kazakhstani Teachers.”Scientific advisors:Laura Chapayevna Karabasova, PhD — Chair of the Board and Rector of K. Zhubanov Aktobe Regional University.Kerry Kennedy — Honorary Professor at The Education University of Hong Kong.By decision of the Council, Anara Serikovna was awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in the educational program “Pedagogy and Methods of Primary Education.”This defense format confirms the high level of research and the integration of our university into the global educational community.Congratulations to Anara Serikovna on her successful defense, and we wish her further scientific achievements!
