RECTOR'S REPORT FOR THE 2024–2025 ACADEMIC YEAR

Today, the Chairman of the Board – Rector of KarNIU held his annual report for the 2024–2025 academic year at the E.A. Buketov Students' Palace. This traditional event summarizes the university's work and discusses current challenges, new trends, and development prospects.

The report presented the university's performance in key areas: Academic Activities and Human Resources, Research Policy, Social and Educational Activities, Financial and Economic Activities, Strategic Development, and International Cooperation.

Over the past year, the university has accomplished significant work and achieved significant success. Among the most significant achievements were its performance in international rankings and accreditation results: the university is among the top 10 universities in Kazakhstan and ranks 10th in the global research ranking. Regarding academic activities, data on the student population is presented: following the 2025 admissions campaign, the total enrollment exceeded 3,500 students, with 2,722 students enrolled under the Serpin-2050 program; 639 graduates have completed their studies. The university offers 93 undergraduate, 68 master's, and 20 doctoral programs. High graduate employment rates are highlighted.

Emphasis was placed on the launch of the AI-SANA technology launchpad, aimed at developing artificial intelligence solutions, as well as the publication of new scientific journals: TRENDS IN PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND SPORT, FUNDAMENTAL AND EXPERIMENTAL BIOLOGY, and BUKETOV BUSINESS REVIEW. The university's international partner network has expanded to 204 universities from 31 countries, and academic mobility is actively developing: 172 domestic and 199 international programs, attracting 107 international scientists.

The research section presents key initiatives: the opening of artificial intelligence, additive manufacturing, and energy management laboratories, applied mechanics and robotics; the development of projects to create nanocomposite materials based on perovskites and titanium for photocatalysis; the development of a new prototype wind turbine with complex blade geometry, and other areas.

The report also touched on social work: the trade union committee is providing vouchers to health and wellness centers in Kazakhstan and abroad. In the economic sphere, renovations to academic buildings and the construction of a modern 500-bed dormitory continue.

At the conclusion of the event, awards were presented to the best teachers and students. The rector also answered questions from students.
