A meeting with Turkish scholar, PhD, writer, translator, and recipient of the Order of Friendship of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Ashur Özdemir, was held at the Karaganda National Research University named after Academician E.A. Buketov.
University Rector N.O. Dulatbekov met with the scholar, praised his work, and expressed gratitude for his contribution to Kazakh spirituality. During the meeting, cultural ties within the Turkic world and opportunities for developing joint historical research were discussed.
Then, as part of the "Alash Month," Ashur Özdemir's lecture, "The Study of the Alash Movement in Turkey and Its Recognition by Society," was held at the Faculty of History. The scholar shared relevant information on the ways in which the Alash heritage has penetrated Turkish scholarship, the views of researchers in Turkey, and shared historical ties. At the end of the lecture, the participants—the "Kuretamyr" local history club of Karaganda Medical University, school history teachers, and university professors—expressed their opinions and asked questions.
Such meetings instill a sense of patriotism in young researchers and allow them to deeply understand the idea of Alash.
