STRENGTHENING CULTURAL TIES

On November 4, 2025, a delegation from the Karaganda National Research University named after Academician E. A. Buketov presented their research monograph, "The Historical and Cultural Heritage of Koreans in Kazakhstan through Personal Stories," at the Korea Foundation (Seoul).

The event marked an important step in strengthening academic and cultural ties between Kazakhstan and the Republic of Korea. During the meeting, the results of a multi-year study on the preservation of memory, cultural identity, and the contribution of the Korean community to the development of Kazakhstan were discussed.

The monograph was prepared under the university's internal grant No. 25-VG-25, "The Cultural and Historical Heritage of the Korean Diaspora in Kazakhstan through Personal Stories" (2025). It is a unique work based on oral histories, archival documents, and family histories of members of the diaspora.

The meeting participants noted the importance of such projects for strengthening cultural dialogue, developing scientific contacts, and promoting shared humanitarian values.

The presentation at the Korea Foundation opens new prospects for collaboration between Karaganda University and Korean scientific and educational centers.
