MEETING OF DEPUTIES OF THE MAZHILIS OF THE PARLIAMENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN WITH THE FACULTY OF HISTORY OF KAZAKHSTAN NIU
On January 6, deputies of the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Kudaibergen Beksultanov, Askhat Aimagambetov, and Unzila Shapak – met with staff members of the Faculty of History of Karaganda National Research University named after Academician E.A. Buketov.During the meeting, Kudaibergen Beksultanov noted that today, a group of deputies had the honor of coming to the sacred Karaganda land of Saryarka."I am sincerely glad to see you all under this roof. Among those present are representatives of the older generation, who gave us knowledge and upbringing, as well as representatives of the middle generation and youth. My sincere greetings to all of you! May the beginning of the year be prosperous and bring abundance! My main wish is unity and harmony. It is a great honor and a great responsibility for us to answer your questions today, within our own walls. He said that important laws are being adopted at the initiative of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, and they were developed and adopted at the initiative of deputies.Unzila Shapak then spoke:"Following the recent extensive interview with the Head of State, the main directions of our work for 2026 have become clear. When reading an interview or the President's Address, we first look for how they relate to our professional activities, and based on this, we determine the vector of our work. The President designated 2026 as the year of reform. I am a member of the Parliament's working group on the implementation of constitutional reform. From November 15 to date, three working meetings have been held. A fourth meeting will be held immediately after returning from the region next week. Therefore, the constitutional reform will be large-scale and significant. As the President noted, it was initially planned to amend approximately one-third of the Constitution. However, a broader scope of amendments is currently being proposed, as a large number of proposals are being received from the public and public experts. In turn, Askhat Aimagambetov emphasized that the deputiesare actively working to ensure that funds are allocated to the Karaganda region, including for the surgical and intensive care unit of our regional oncology center. Thousands of people will receive treatment there, and doctors will save their lives. And they have many such decisions. In his speech, he mentioned the professionalism of the teachers, who were passionate about their work, and students from previous years still remember their lectures.A working group has been established that is actively working to address social issues. A number of significant amendments aimed at developing educational programs are being considered. For example, children from the age of five can receive substantial state support. Parents need to choose a bank and deposit 12 MCI into their child's account, and the state will top up the account with 60 MCI. This way, dividends and interest will grow, and after finishing school, the child will have sufficient resources to enroll in university and purchase housing. As Kudaibergen Beksultanov emphasized, this educational program will play a role in the future. Parents should simply choose their bank carefully. At the conclusion of the event, Bekzat Altynbekov, Chairman of the Amanat Party's Karaganda branch, said the deputies' visit was extensive and that it was gratifying that working meetings had begun with representatives of the scientific community—scientists from the national university."I believe that any projects and programs should be based on a scientific approach, as science makes a significant contribution to the development of society. The initiatives you are implementing today are in the public eye and are generating keen interest," he emphasized.
